"Make your home a haven of rest and peace. Be hospitable, and let the doors of your house be open to the faces of friends and strangers. Welcome every guest with radiant grace and let each feel that it is his own home."

Prayer for America
O Thou kind Lord! This gathering is turning to
Thee. These hearts are radiant with Thy love. These
minds and spirits are exhilarated by the message of
Thy glad-tidings. O God! Let this American democracy
become glorious in spiritual degrees even as it has
aspired to material degrees, and render this just
government victorious. Confirm this revered nation to
upraise the standard of the oneness of humanity, to
promulgate the Most Great Peace, to become thereby
most glorious and praiseworthy among all the nations
of the world. O God! This American nation is worthy
of Thy favors and is deserving of Thy mercy. Make it
precious and near to Thee through Thy bounty and
bestowal.

"O FRIEND!
In the garden of thy heart plant naught but the rose of love,..."
-- Bahá'u'lláh, The Hidden Words of Baha'u'llah, p. 23
Here's a song I wrote with my friend Mary Davis. Enjoy!
Music for refrain by Mary Davis, from her tape, "Take Me Up", ©1993 Windflower Music,
151 St. Dunstans Road
Asheville, NC 28803
Words of refrain are an excerpt from the Bahá'í Writings.
©1943,1956 National Spiritual Assembly
of the Bahá'ís of the United States.
The songs are compressed .wav files (~400K) and will take some time to load.
The song with lyrics page will open in a new window so you can continue browsing the other pages.
I hope you enjoy the songs..... :-)
Thanks for listening, :-)

Bahá'ís are followers of Bahá'u'lláh.
Bahá'u'lláh (whose name means,"Glory of God") is the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá'í Faith.
The Báb (Persian for "The Gate") was the forerunner and Herald for the "One whom God will make Manifest".
Bahá'u'lláh fulfills the Prophecies of all the Major world religions, ending the age of the Prophetic Cycle and bringing into being the Age of Fulfillment.
'Abdu'l-Bahá(which means,"Servant of God"), on Bahá'u'lláh's passing, was appointed in Bahá'u'lláh's Will, "Center of the Covenant", and was referred to as the Master, whose life was viewed as the example which Bahá'ís were to follow.
The Basic Tenets of the Bahá'í Faith are:
- Oneness of God
- Oneness of mankind
- Common foundation of all religions
- Individual search for truth
- Elimination of prejudice of all kinds
- Universal auxillary language
- Equality of men and women
- Universal education
- Harmony of science and religion
- Elimination of extremes of wealth and poverty
- Universal peace upheld by a world government
- Protection of Cultural diversity.

Bahá'í Prayers
I have wakened in Thy shelter, O my God,
and it becometh him that seeketh that shelter
to abide within the Sanctuary of Thy protection
and the Stronghold of Thy defense.
--Bahá'u'lláh

Oh God, guide me, protect me, make of me a shining lamp and a brilliant star. Thou art the Mighty and Powerful.

O my Lord! O my Lord!
I am a child of tender years
Nourish me from the breast of Thy mercy,
train me in the bosom of Thy love,
Educate me in the school of Thy guidance
and develop me under the shadow of Thy bounty.
Deliver me from darkness,
make me a brilliant light;
free me from unhappiness,
make me a flower of the rose garden;
Suffer me to become a servant of Thy threshold
and confer upon me the disposition
and nature of the rightous;
Make me a cause of bounty to the human world,
and crown my head with the diadem of eternal life.
Verily, Thou art the Powerful, the Mighty,
the Seer, the Hearer.
-'Abdu'l-Bahá

O God! Refresh and gladden my spirit.
Purify my heart. Illumine my powers.
I lay all my affairs in Thy hand.
Thou art my Guide and my Refuge.
I will no longer be sorrowful and grieved;
I will be a happy and joyful being.
O God! I will no longer be full of anxiety,
Nor will I let trouble harass me.
I will not dwell on the unpleasant things of life.
Oh God! Thou art more friend to me than I am to myself,
I dedicate myself to Thee, O Lord.
-'Abdu'l-Bahá
