INDEPENDENT CONSULTANT:
- provide services targeted to the IT/IS and corporate managers for system configurations and integration on specific HP, SUN or PC target platforms; provide recommendations on backup system operations and crash recovery methodologies, dataset storage and media rotation considerations; training of end users in application usage, system maintenance, structured programming languages (C and Fortran), CASE methodologies and tools, and O/S concepts; provide system management/administration services for HP1000 (RTE), HP9000 (HP-UX) and SUN (Solaris and SunOS) systems, and provide assistance in migration efforts from a current legacy computing platforms to newer ones (i.e. HP MPE/iX to ??). These services include installing new system and network hardware and upgrading system and RDBMS software as required, setting up LAN environments for the systems to utilize the TCP/IP, NFS, NIS and DNS services of the systems connected; authoring special scripts to perform routine and special tasks; kernel and system tuning as required, and monitoring of system performance with HP's OpenView NNM, ITO/ITA, GlancePlus or custom routines as required.

CONTRACT ACTIVITIES:
09/07 to present - provide remote System Administration services to IBM, maintain their client's HP, Solaris, Linux and AIX servers remotely.

01/04 to present, analyze sites and install wired & wireless networking system for hotels, motels, RV Parks, Marinas, industrial warehouses and office facilities. Many satisfied customers are now connected and mobile within the client sites using the hotspots while the clients continue to operate in a secure connected environment.

08/01 to present, working with several client companies for short term migration efforts from HP3000 platforms to HP9000 systems; provide analysis of current computing capabilities and make recommendations of new services and system configurations for successful migration activities; provide Project timelines and detailed plans for implementation schedules and man loading requirements; provide training in how to manage and operate in the new environment with comparisons to the old ones.

01/01 - 06/01 - At CareBid.com, Oakland, CA, system administrator for application and webservers for a medical insurer claim processing system; set up the co-lo environment and support services for the production servers with disk arrays in RAID5 mode, mirrored root drives, current system patches; setup Veritas NetBackup using an Exabyte Library.

10/00 - 12/00 - At White Pajamas, Hayward, CA, system administrator for 49 servers and over 30 workstations all running HP-UX 11.0; draft the procedures and processes to establish the baseline for configuration management.

07/00 - 10/00 - At Intira Corporation, NOC, Pleasanton, CA, provide Netbackup support to over 60 internal systems and over 30 customers with over 400 production servers; assist the Support Maintenance Center (SMC) staff in monitoring the HP-UX and Solaris environments using ITO, NNM and NOCOP systems in this 7x24 facility.

03/00 - 07/00 - At Acuson Corporation, System Support Group, Mountain View, CA, provide process analysis, system administration services, and documentation of their computing environment; training and mentoring of a junior system administrator.

09/99 - 02/00 - At Match.com, San Mateo, CA & Dallas, TX, system administrator and project manager for the development and launch of the Y2K compliant version 2; maintained the version 1 platform during development and conversion of the hardware into version 2 test environment; automate environments for file system maintenance, backups and system monitoring; problem notifications provided via e-mail to pagers.

05/99 - 08/99 - At Diebold, NOC, Akron, Ohio, remote & on-site system administration services to upgrade systems to Y2K compliance, upgrade the ITO/NNM and CiscoWorks software; train the in-house staff.

03/98 - 09/99 - At Intel, FAB-D2, Santa Clara, CA, system administrator for the FAB, responsible for over 400 x86 Solaris systems and over 40 HP Servers/workstations; upgrade all systems with patches to be Y2K compliant; install and maintain an MC/ServiceGuard Clusters for the Yield Analysis Support (YAS) database. Develop and implement a documentation standard and repository system.

01/97 - 12/97 - At HP, Corporate Data Center, Palo Alto, CA system administration services for over 300 UNIX servers; upgrade OpC to ITO/NNM in an MC/ServiceGuard environment; create & managing a web-based database for system status and statistics

12/95 - 01/97 - At Pacific*Bell, ACN Project, San Ramon, CA, set up and manage Operations Center, re-architect Development and Test environments using HP MC/ServiceGuard clusters; setup active monitoring of all systems utilizing ITO/NNM
